So, there I was. Minding my own business scrolling through an interior designer’s blog I enjoy and BAM! Out of nowhere I was hit by these amazing pants she was wearing. She, being ever so brilliant, linked them like a good little blogger should. To my surprise, they were Who What Wear and under $40! Target and this brand are killing it lately. I really do try and spread the love with my wardrobe. I like to sprinkle and mix high end and low end retailers (while trying to avoid fast fashion-a reason I’ll get into another time), but let’s face it. I live one mile from Target and I’m a mom of three young children. I’m there constantly and that darn brand just keeps waiving itself in my face. So…I’m here today to show you how you can make these incredibly cute cropped, wide legged, plaid pants with gold snap details (dying) work for you no matter your life “face.” (Don’t know yours? Find it here.). I’ve linked the pants below in both styles.
The coat I’m wearing in this pic has a fun little story. A few years ago I was traveling to New York to work on a photo shoot for Oscar de la Renta (yep, humble brag). When I got there, the weather did a 180 and out of nowhere the temps dropped. I had not planned for this in my packing and had to quickly run to the nearest department store. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money but still wanted quality so Nordstrom Rack it was. I showed up on set next day and everyone raved about the color. Here we are a few years later and I’m breaking it back out since it’s the “it color” of fall!
I don’t know if it was because my husband was in London when I shot these but I get a very English vibe from this ensemble. These pants are cropped but the weight makes them year round friendly. They’re heavy enough for the cooler temps but not too heavy for spring and summer wear. The design is elevated and the gold snaps on the side make them appear more expensive than they are.
Their plaid pattern is made of neutral colors making it easy to mix and play well with others. So, layer up!
Don’t get caught up on the length. They can go with heels, boots, tennies, you name it! I love their versatility! They can take you from the office with a blazer or to the playground with a bomber!
These newsboy style hats are very in this season. I wasn’t sure if I could rock it but I think it’s growing on me. I love the vibe it adds to the look!
So, what do you think? Do you see them in your future? Honestly, I don’t even know how I lived until now. 😉 Let me know in the comments which look was your favorite or how you would style them! I love getting inspiration from you guys! Have a fab day!
