If you remember, way back in January I stated that velvet was a huge trend and not going anywhere anytime soon. Find that article here. As we all know at this point, it’s everywhere! You can find it from Neiman Marcus to Target and anywhere in between. This week we’ll focus on the velvet jogger. The cut makes it casual but the texture adds the luxe factor making it an extremely versatile piece for your wardrobe. No matter your life “face” (Find yours here), you can make this look work for you! Once again, there are exceptions to every rule. You may find that you fit in several “faces.” I do for sure! These are just guidelines to help nudge you in the direction that feels more “you.” I personally love the ones I’m wearing found here (blouse found here for under $20) for three reasons. They’re under $30, uber comfortable and those most beautiful shade of deep, emerald green. The color makes them the perfect neutral you can pair with just about anything! If you don’t love them, I’ve linked more below in a range of colors and prices along with other pieces inspired by the photos.
This look is a bit more relaxed. It’s perfect for rolling out of bed and heading to class, taking your kids to the playground, running errands, meeting friends for lunch or getting down on the ground with your grandchildren. Granted, the crop top is a bit more for the SEARCHER (or maybe you can still rock a crop top after having children. I can’t and won’t. You’re welcome.). If you want to push the envelope, pair it with heels like this lady above in denim. If not, tennis shoes are perfectly acceptable! Find the ones I’m wearing here.
When you hear “jogger” you don’t necessarily think business or meeting attire. The fact that they’re velvet though tricks your eye into thinking they’re something more. Pair a nice, crisp button down and heels with them and you’re good to go! Even better, add a blazer or another layer to really take it up a notch. Find mine here.
You know what this is all about. Take your look to the next level. Add crazy prints, colors and pile on more texture. Your daily attire is a costume…and an amazing one at that!
Pair your jogger with a very of the moment lace, detailed blouse or try a metallic sweater. Add a clutch, accessories and pop them with a colored heel. “Why yes, I believe I will have another cocktail please.” My joggers can be found here and my blouse (just under $20) here.
What are your thoughts on this post? Do you think you could see velvet joggers in your rotation now? Is there a piece in your wardrobe you struggle to style. Let me know in the comments and I’ll see if I can help you out. Have a fabulous week!
